Do you know that Jacob pleased God and God changed his name to Israel.This name Israel represented the spitual or eternal.His brother esau who has sold his birthright for a bowl of soup to gratify the fresh represented the temporal or the immediate.Esau had a son called amalek.In exodus 17..we see Joshua and the amalekites in a battle.A battle that the Lord commanded moses to choose some of his men to go uot and fight.Why did God this time and the only first time told Moses to choose men to go and fight?Because the Amalekites represented the flesh,israels own blood,the son of esau.When faced with a difficult challange that stops your progress,that paralyze your growth,that hinders your inheritance and you feel you cannot enter Gods holy place..right there is an amalekite spirit destroying you.Choose some men go and fight.Choose some powerful,strong men spiritually go and fight the amalekites.Moses choose joshua and hur who could lift his hands at the mountain ..today choose men who can lift your hands at the mountain to give you victory.
